The GPCI Accepted Education Program establishes a mechanism to assist grant professionals in determining their best educational or training opportunities that cover the grant competencies that are necessary to achieve and maintain the GPC credential. Providers who participate in this program have undergone an application process with GPCI® to ensure their training or education sessions cover these competencies.

Providers will display this Accepted Education Program logo on the specific training sessions which have been approved.

From Search to Strategy: The Grant Research Method That Will Forever Change How You Find Grants

PROVIDER: The Grant Writers Collective

TRAINING TYPE: Webinar (On-Demand)

DATE:

DESCRIPTION: This session covers Competency 1: researching, identifying, and matching funding resources to meet specific needs. Students learn how grant research works as a structured, funnel-based process -- moving from broad landscape awareness down to strategic decisions about which opportunities are worth pursuing. The session covers how to locate and evaluate funding sources across government and private sectors. Students learn to use tools like Instrumentl and keyword strategies to surface relevant opportunities and read grant guidelines to assess funder intent. Students develop a practical framework for determining organizational eligibility and fit before investing time in an application, and learn how to move through three stages of research -- discovery, screening, and decision -- with increasing specificity at each step. The session closes with guidance on funder relationship strategy and building a cohesive funding strategy that matches an organization's needs to the right opportunities.
